Data Capture

How do I capture and record asset data during a site survey?

SiteSurvey lets you build custom asset capture forms with barcode scanning, photo fields, GPS location, condition ratings, and structured attributes, so every asset is recorded consistently across your survey team.

To capture asset data in SiteSurvey, you build a custom form that defines the attributes you want to record for each asset type, such as make, model, serial number, condition rating, location, and photographs.

Barcode and QR code scanning is built into the mobile app, so surveyors can scan an asset label to pre-populate identifier fields rather than typing them manually. This reduces transcription errors and speeds up data collection on sites with large numbers of items to record.

GPS coordinates or floor plan pin-drops can be attached to each asset record, giving you a precise location that persists beyond the survey. Combined with photographs, this provides enough context to identify and locate an asset without a return visit.

Once the survey is complete, all asset records are available as a structured dataset in the dashboard and can be exported to CSV or PDF. This output is commonly used to populate a CAFM system or produce a condition report for a client.
